On 22nd, October, 2009, imould went to North Mould factory, and had a talk with President Miao Min.

Imould: Mr. President, can you introduce North Mould and your venture in establish this factory? What would you like to say about your venture?

Mr. Miao: I went in for business in 1988. I was a physical teacher then, all my family members and friends opposed my decision. After quit the job, I went to Hongqi Mould factory, one of the largest factories at that time, and became an apprentice. Four years later, I had the thought to establish my own factory. In 1997, North Mould founded in the rented workshop. In 2004, I bought this land, and built our own factory.

Imould: I saw in the workshop that everyone was very busy. It seems your business now is on the up grade. After innovation, how many moulds can you produce each year?

Mr. Miao: nearly 500 sets of moulds each year.

 Imould: I saw many rewards when I entering your office. You must have some special management skills, would you please share with us?

 Mr. Miao: there is no bounds in management, we must make progress everyday. I went to school to study every few years. I joined the management class organized by Zhejiang University, met some friends who do the same job as me, we communicated and learned from each other. In our company, we encourage workers to study everyday, and every week, we hold management and quality meeting so that we will make progress steadly.

Imould: how do you control the mould quality? What do you think is your special advantage in competetion?

Mr. Miao: as mould is customized product, I carry out the responsibility system, we reward people who do well and punish those who make mistakes. In order to ensure mould quality, I appointed independent mould management engineers, who is at the same level with the General Manager. Each engineer manages three mould projects. When it comes to tryout, we assign the customer representative from sales department to monitor the process and make detailed records. These representatives usually check the mould from the end user’s perspective.

Our major business is home supplies moulds, chair and table moulds, stool moulds. Our share in Huangyan is nearly 50%.

Imould: how do you satisfy customers after mould has delivered?

Mr. Miao: we have set up mould maintainance center in business intensive areas. In Turkey and Malaysia, we have set up companies, they also manage mould maintainance centers. Generally, mould has no quality problem. Most problems are because of using and effeciency. So our mould maintaince center also repair moulds for others. I sincerely hope I can solve problems of moulds that made in Huangyan and sold to foreign countries, and hope I can do more to help with promotion of Huangyan mould brand in the world.

Imould: can you explain the company culture?

Mr. Miao: we have set up workers activity center. They can play billiard ball, table tennis, karaoke, and so on. This is the first workers activity center in Huangyan with internatioanl idea. Imould: many people say you are straightforward, do you think it’s good for your business? Mr. Miao: foreign customers like to do business with me, because I am frank. Usually, I will not make mistake in mould quality and delivery time. They feel very ease doing business with me. I think this character has helped me with business. We make everything clear, so will keep away from trouble.
