By far the largest plastics-processing trade fair in Indonesia, and among the biggest in Southeast Asia, is Plastics & Rubber Indonesia. Organized by PT Pamerindo Buana Abadi, Plastics & Rubber Indonesia 2009 takes place December 2–5 at the Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran in the nation’s capital, Jakarta. And this year’s fair will host a German pavilion.
This year’s will be the 22nd edition of the international plastics and rubber machinery, processing, and materials exhibition.
With many traditional global markets reporting negative growth, exporters have to look for new market opportunities. Unlike many other national economies, Indonesia’s is expanding. Its government expects a continuing increase in economic activity in 2009, targeting a figure of 4.5%. It foresees an average annual growth rate of 5% over the next 10 years.
The last edition of Plastics & Rubber Indonesia attracted 446 exhibiting companies from 29 countries. This year, as last, the fair will host a German pavilion, which is being coordinated by Overseas Exhibition Services Ltd. Participation by German companies in this attention-getting group exhibit will provide an effective means of initiating contacts with key decision makers among the some 16,000 showgoing professionals from throughout the sprawling nation of Indonesia and the whole of Southeast Asia who will be attending Plastics & Rubber Indonesia 2009.
