PSG Plastic Service GmbH will be exhibiting at Chinaplas 2009 in Guangzhou, China, this spring in association with its agent in Beijing, HRD. Show dates are May 18–21. PSG is displaying its hot runner systems and controllers and featuring nozzle inserts that facilitate quick colour change.
The German hot runner technology and regulation specialist, active for more than 40 years, serves customers in the automotive, transport, caps and closures, and medical device industries. PSG offers technology that accommodates shot weights ranging from 0.5 g to 40 kg. The company anticipates that its technology for in-mould decoration will be of interest to the Chinese market.
PSG is introducing new nozzle inserts for its Mikro series to that market at Chinaplas. This innovation is designed to improve colour change. The inserts are suitable for application on existing as well as new hot runner systems. Practical tests of the new technology have shown that colour change can be effected in one-tenth the time of other options—just 10 shots.
Further advantages of these inserts appear when metallic colour pigments are used. A complete homogeneous surface without visible weld lines is the result.
