Mills CNC Opens New Customer and Visitor Centre in UK

Mills CNC Ltd., the exclusive distributor of Doosan machine tools in the UK and Ireland, officially opened its new Customer & Visitor Centre on September 1. Mills is the Korean machine manufacturer’s top-performing distributor in Europe, It sold more than 330 machines last year, and 2009 unit sales are strong.

Seung Rok Ma formally presided over the opening. He is the executive managing director of sales and marketing for Doosan Infracore Machine Tools.

Commenting on the occasion and the event, Ma said, “Mills CNC is a successful company that has built its reputation on providing exemplary customer care and service, and these plus our high-performance, competitively priced machine tools make an unbeatable combination.”

Ma went on to observe that Doosan’s relationship with Mills has grown significantly over recent years. He credited the distributor’s expertise and its knowledge of home markets with helping Doosan develop new products and successful ways of communicating with customers.

“The new Customer & Visitor Centre here at Mills’ Leamington facility is truly state-of-the-art and is a perfect environment in which to showcase and demonstrate our technologies,” Ma concluded.

The modern and spacious centre represents an important milestone in the history of Mills CNC. Its ground-floor area houses a wide range of Doosan machine tools, including the recently launched DNM vertical machines with Heidenhain controls, along with the company’s training room, in which courses in CNC programming and machine operation are conducted, and a café/kitchen area for customers and visitors. The upstairs mezzanine offers a reception area, numerous meeting rooms, and a conference room, all overlooking the ground floor.

Over the next few months, the centre will showcase several new Doosan machines that Mills CNC will be launching in the UK and Ireland, including 5-axis machining centres and a new range of multitasking Puma lathes.

“The centre represents a significant investment for Mills,” commented Nick Frampton, Mills CNC’s managing director, “and all the feedback we’ve had from partners, suppliers and, of course, our customers suggests that it has been money well spent.”
