Mec-Spe 2009 to Spotlight Motor Sport

Preparations for Mec-Spe 2009, the international specialized mechanics trade show taking place in Parma, Italy, March 19–21, are progressing furiously. The organizer, Senaf S.r.l., announces that the event this year will host a new initiative, the Racing Vehicle Square, whose slogan is “From Engineering to the Finish.” This square will be an area dedicated to representing the excellence achieved by Italian industry serving motor sport.

The initiative arose from a cooperation between Senaf and Assomotoracing, the Italian cultural association for motor sport racing history and technique. The racing vehicle division of the precision machine tool industry distinguishes itself by its high investment in research and development and by an emphasis on innovation that often finds application, through technology transfer, in other production fields.

The companies exhibiting in Racing Vehicle Square, thanks to the contribution of Assomotoracing, represents a selection based on strict standards of excellence and high levels of innovation.

Unquestionable attractions of the square will be several racing vehicles produced by the most important builders in the motor sport sector, whose suppliers—providers of prototyping services, finishing processes, titanium and cobalt alloys, superalloys, metallic and polymeric matrix materials, and other products and services—will have exhibition space in the area.

“It was important for us that Assomotoracing established the appointment with Mec-Spe, because this is one of the main trade shows for the entire specialized mechanics division,” explained Alfonso Galvani, Assomotoracing president. Galvani went on to note that Parma is in a strategic geographical position relative to the supply industry for racing cars and motorbikes produced in Italy.

“Working in teams and cooperating with many partners are increasingly strategic assets for achieving efficient results, especially during critical periods,” stated Emilio Bianchi, manager of Senaf. “So, we decided to structure the Racing Vehicle Square to show visitors that only cooperation between companies with complementary specializations, along with the transfer of technological innovations from one field to another, can create virtuous circles that lead to excellent results.”
