EuroMold 2009 Attracted More Foreign Visitors Than Ever

By the time the 16th EuroMold ended on December 5, it had drawn 56,372 attendees from 86 countries to the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre. The degree of attendance by non-Germans continued to increase. EuroMold 2009 welcomed 19,535 international visitors, representing 34.6% of the total. That raised the 2008 quota (32.2%) by 7.4%.

By tradition, EuroMold is very important to countries in central and western Europe. The largest contingents of visitors in 2009 came from Switzerland (9.0% of all international attendees), Italy (8.7%) and Austria (8.6%), followed by the Netherlands (7.1%), France (6.5%) and, Spain (5.6%). Significant numbers hailed from South Korea, Japan, India, China, Taiwan and Iran in Asia and from the United States, Israel, Brazil and South Africa.

More EuroMold 2009 attendees (25.3%) represented the automotive industry than any other. This group—and also visitors from the engineering industry—increased significantly from its 2008 level in terms of both absolute numbers and percentage of the total.

As usual, most EuroMold visitors were decision makers at their companies.

Exhibitors at EuroMold 2009 numbered 1,354 and came from 37 countries. They were well pleased with the large number of interested attendees, the number of contracts signed—including with some big new customers—and the fact that booth visitors were numerous on all four days of the event.

The show organizer DEMAT GmbH feels that EuroMold 2009 set standards with its new hall concept, its focus on the host country Poland, a comprehensive international conference programme and the special feature shows “e-Production for Everyone” and “Automation within Moldmaking and Tooling.”

“Increasing numbers of trade visitors from abroad, the high acceptance of the newly built Hall 11.0 and the large interest in the special feature shows were far beyond our expectations,” remarks Dr. Eberhard Döring, exhibition manager for EuroMold 2009. “More than ever, EuroMold has become an absolutely essential driving force for innovation and growth in the entire product development chain, and has also expanded its position as the leading world fair for this industry.”

EuroMold 2010 will be held December 1–4, again at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre. The 17th world fair for mould making and tooling, design and application development is expected to comprise more than 1,500 exhibitors and to draw some 60,000 trade visitors.
