DME Is Now Offering Euro Cavity Plates

In response to growing demand, DME has added Euro cavity plates in Toolox 33 prehardened tool and machine steel to its portfolio. These cavity plates are available off the shelf in 13 sizes between 156 x 156 mm and 346 x 396 mm. DME offers the new plates at an attractive price point according to its motto “more value for money.”

Toolox 33 is a modern quenched and tempered tool and machine steel that requires no additional heat treatment. The idea is to save customers time and money by delivering Toolox 33 cavity plates heat-treated and ready to use.

Because of their low carbon content, Euro cavity plates in Toolox 33 exhibit very high toughness at a hardness of 300 HB. This combination of hardness and toughness minimizes tool wear and ensures high productivity when the tool is in service. Euro cavity plates are particularly easy to machine, and they display excellent polishing and etching properties.

As a result of the tempering temperature used in its production, Toolox 33 features very low residual stress levels. The steel also has ESU (electroslag remelting) properties. DME produces each plate uniquely and tests it for hardness, toughness and homogeneity.
